Bucuresti, 20 martie 2008
Microsoft Romania had 30% growth in number of server installations in 2007, according to IDC, more than average market growth which stood at 24%. Virtualisation and security made available in Windows Server 2008, together with online services like remote hosting will help the company extend its marketshare from 75% in 2007 to cca. 80% in 2008, mainly by gains in the small and medium business segments, which by now could not afford virtual server, said Gabriel Nicolaescu – Server & Tools Business Group Lead, Microsoft România, in a press briefing on Widows Server 2008 launch in Bucharest, Romania, on March 20, 2008.
Jonathan Perera – Platform Application Manager, Microsoft Corp., and Rane STEMPSON – Central Eastern Europe
Core Infrastructure Lead, Microsoft Deutschland GmbH also gave details on how small businesses and non-profits in US use virtualisation and Microsoft online services to compensate for limited internal IT skills and resources.
